Have you read any good books with your children lately? Sometimes, parents have a difficult time helping their child find a book they can read and are interested in. If you aren't sure of your child's reading level, reach out to their homeroom teacher. To help find books they are interested in, try asking the experts that work in the libraries. The school library and the public library have many wonderful books they can read for free!
Scholastic has a resource called Book Wizard that can help you research books at the appropriate level and to fit their interest. You can look using the reading level, author, or subject. Please let me know if you would like some help using this resource.
It's always a good idea to discuss what they have read. This link will give you questions you can ask your child while reading any book, the questions are based on the student's reading level!

Remember, they should be reading EVERY day. You can refer back to the graphic illustration that I sent home earlier this year as a reminder of just how vital it is to read daily.
