Every January and February all of our ESOL students take the ACCESS test. This test assesses each student's English language abilities. There are four areas that we assess; listening, reading, speaking, and writing. This test lets us know if our students still need additional support to help them to be successful in the general education classroom. It also helps us understand where each student needs the extra support.
During this testing window, the students will stay in their classrooms (when they are not testing) and they will participate in the activities their teacher has planned.
We work hard to keep this low key so the students don't feel anxious. Please help us by reassuring your child that doing their best is not the same as getting every question correct.
