All classes have started a new unit.
First Grade: We are exploring our senses and how they are used to help us learn about the world around us. We are continuing to practice our short and long vowel sounds and we will be writing a personal narrative. This is a story about something they have experienced.
Second Grade: We are learning about Living in America. We will explore information about cities, towns, and what there is to do in our very diverse country. They will learn how to write letters, we started out by writing letters to our service men and women. Those letters are a part of The Big Thank You, which collects enough letters so that every service person that is away from home receives one on Thanksgiving. The letters and pictures that they created are sure to bring a smile to their recipient's faces.
Third Grade: We are researching a country that they are not familiar with. They will learn where it is located, some of it's history, and what it is like to live there. When they finish researching, they will present what they learned to the other students.
We are also learning about animals, how they are unique, and how they live. We will be learning how to write reports, including their Country Report and one about animals.
